Donations

Many people ask how to donate to OpenZaurus project. We decided to not keep one central account for it because arrangements are very complicated when you have a fluctuating group like the contributors to OpenZaurus. Not only do contributors come and go but they also contribute to varing degrees. And as soon as it comes to money, friendly relationships are endangered. In the end it’s not worth the hassle to split the money up.

Who does what is pretty much open - it’s listed on the ChangeLogs, it’s listed in the ipkgs (MAINTAINER), on the READMEs and you see it in forums, mailing lists, IRC. So, just donate to the people you think which are doing things that affect you.

If you want to donate for project then please contact Marcin ‘Hrw’ Juszkiewicz.

OZ is great, wish that there was a stable release for the SL-5500 and I would ditch the Sharp provided ROM in a heartbeat.

    Thanks for your hard work.

    Devs,
I want to take the time to thank you ALL for a wonderful/successful embedded os. OpenZaurus has made a huge impact on my life and career. I love the OS, it’s smoothe, stable, and polished. I’d like to give a shout out to Mickey Lauer, who is extremely active in the forums! You couldn’t ask for a better guy. I look forward to each update and release. You guys hit the nail on the head. Good luck and I look forward to each new release. Linux all the way!

    Sincerely,
    David Webb

I would like to begin development work on the Zaurus, specifically the 7×0 series. I am having trouble getting everything setup to begin. Is there some way I can get an image of a partition with everything I would need to have running on a basic i386 box? Or, is someone willing to help me go through it all. The page on “Required Software” is very helpful and informative, but I can’t find all of the programs and am not even sure what I’m looking for in some instances.

Help would be appreciated. A partition image would be appreciated more. I am willing to pay for shipping and the CDR.

Please contact me with any questions.

I would like to help out on the OZ project. I need some help getting a developmental machine setup and ready to go. Is anyone willing to help me? This is the third post I’ve left on this website, and none of them have seemed to make it past the moderation phase.

Please contact me if you have questions:

If we get a vendor interested in having their hardware supported in OZ, who should we have them send it to?

Specifically, I think I may be able to entice SparkLAN to send someone their 802.11g CF card, for which they already have source-level kernel 2.4.x support and a dedicated Linux team. However, they’ve never tried to build against kernel 2.6.x, nor have they worked with OZ. As far as I can tell, this looks like it has a good chance to become the first 802.11g card that works in OZ.
