New Build Of Qt/e For Testing

Marcin Juszkiewicz April 3rd, 2006

Today I prepared new libqte2 packages rebuild for all OZ supported machines. Users of OpenZaurus 3.5.4/3.5.4.1 (OPIE flavour) are requested to install it and tell does it works or not for them. You can download them from this directory (you can use it as feed too).

We want to have it tested before it will be added into upgrades feed.

UPDATE: version upgraded to r32 should work OK on cxx00 Zauruses.

UPDATE: libqte2 r32 added into upgrades feed.

All this work cannot been done without patches from ROAD GmbH. Let me quote mail from Holger ‘zecke’ Freyther:

The ROAD GmbH was kind enough to give their fixes to the kernel-keymap patch back to the community. I finally found the time to merge these fixes back into our copy of the kernel-keymap.patch.

I’m glad we have fixes for:

  • Workaround broken KeyMaps. This means no more ‘dead’ keyboards for Opie users yipee
  • Fix handling of function keys
  • Fix handling of NumLock keys
  • Fix handling of Auto Repeats
  • Handle keys > 7Bit
  • Add Handling for ShiftL and ShiftR modifiers
  • many more small fixes.

The keyboard support now is way more mature than it was before. I would like to thank the ROAD GmbH and I personally wish them good luck on their product and I sincerly hope they will release it soon!

Works well in Borzoi. Shift-Fn+key combination does not cause
    keyboard hang up anymore. Excellent!

    Cursor keys are shifted:

              Key Movement

              Left Down
              Down Right
              Right Up
              Up Left

So had to edit keymap respectively.

Arto, it sounds like your Z thinks it is rotated to the left. Did you try playing with the screen rotate applet?

Same problem here with keymap (Akita). Can you please detail which file you edited ?

thx for info - I will fix it in r32 version on days

Info for all cxx00 users: one patch is needed to qte and I will add it today.

Bronson: Rotate turns screen to right, so then again cursor
    keys are wrongly mapped.

Alex: /etc/keymap-2.6.map (or keymap-2.4.map, depending on the kernel you use). Take a backup copy before you make any changes!
And if you use terminal, then the original keymap is right.
I don’t know how to get terminal and opie cursos keys working
    at the same time.

I changed keycodes 103 (Right), 105 (Up), 106 (Down) and 108 (Left), Borzoi.

Just upgraded on my collie, I didn’t noticed major changes as before it all seemed to work well, anyway :)
Thanks guys, keep up the good work (and handshake for the nice new template :) )

Release 32 works great on my C3000! No more rotated cursor keys, and the CTRL key no longer sends ^B to the console :)
